Tarte Treasure Chest

I recently picked up the Tarte Treasure Chest (at Sephora for approx $65.00 Canadian). I had been hearing mixed reviews on this, so I wanted to wait until I could see it in person (instead of ordering). I am very impressed!

The packaging is very attractive in appearance, however the palette is large and bulky. The magnets on the palette are not really strong enough to keep it together, so you have to be careful with it. Also, I'm not a huge fan of keeping lip and eye/face products together in a palette, so I will probably be taking this apart and possibly depoting shadows for easier use/storage.

Now on to what's inside the palette:

Thirty two eyeshadows (first tray has 16 shimmer shadows, second has 16 matte shadows)
The third tray contains sixteen lipsticks or glosses (not sure on the quality of these yet)
On the bottom, you have four blushes, a bronzer, and a highlighter.

Having tried almost everything out there, Tarte eyeshadows are among my very favorite. They are heavily pigmented and buttery smooth. The treasure chest shadows are similar in quality to other recent Tarte eye palattes. There are one or two shadows in this that are not as great as the rest, but that is pretty much par for the course when buying palettes.

So my overall opinion is that the packaging is not "ideal", but I think this is a great value and the eyeshadows are outstanding!
